For the second evening of Litha 2018, we gathered guests in the atrium area for dining to celebrate their arrangements made, with their flowers dressed along the tablescape. Taking inspiration from the tones in the room, we opted for a striking rich red as the base palette. All students worked within the palette set for the dinner, for a beautiful cohesive design to form.
So as to keep the focus on the flower, we kept the look and design more minimal with clear taper holders and contemporary gold votives scattered across the tables. Contrast napkins brought a clean edge and linear design to the banquet dining, with millimeter perfect placement of the elegant gold tipped cutlery. A modern finish was also brought to the stationery with eyelets added for that touch of brassy gold, to bridge to candles and cutlery.
Flowers were arranged in beautiful ceramics, custom-made for Litha 2018 by Paige Mitchell, whilst the backdrop to the dinner was an amazing installation made by all of the students of Litha. The backdrop created a sense of the flowers taking over the surrounds, bringing the outdoors in, with creeping foliage, ornamental vines, and flowers. Paired with wooden chairs with off-white seat pads, it immediately transported you to the Italian Riviera and a feel of alfresco dining, and made for an incredible setting after a hard day’s work of creating.
