We worked with this infectious couple to style their magical French Chateau wedding in France. Having unlocked their stories, we developed an event design that mixed their modern sensibility with fun touches, whilst remaining sensitive to the venue and surrounds.
A chateau with quintessential French blue shutters, we drew on this colour to form a key part of the palette, adding warm peach tones, pale pinks and dove grey. The chateau ticked all dream venue wishes, with walled garden, orangery, orchard and flower meadow in full bloom. A vast ground, we devised the best flow for the day, and transformed each of those spaces. From empty Orangery, to immersive space. From open lawn to outdoor lounge. From vast hall, to inviting supper club. We styled and brought imaginative touches to create a wow wedding day for the couple and all their guests.
The invitation for this wedding set the scene for the location with gate open-fold vellum packaging to mirror the venue detail. Within, the illustrated suite mixed watercolour, and included further venue features, with touches of marble paper, and a keep-sake luggage tag for guests to excite them about this destination wedding.
Taking inspiration from the orangery, we added potted plants to a floral entrance arch at the Church, to nod to what was to be revealed at the reception venue. Confetti was placed in terracotta pots with messages in English and French written in modern calligraphy. Beautiful Order of Services were designed to complement the stationery suite, and detail the day ahead.
Upon arrival at the Chateau we created welcome signs, with lettering in blue, and guests received a map of the grounds. Moving through the Orchard Pressery room, the space was dressed with florals and hundreds of apples. Within the empty Orangery we created a Sun Hat installation wall, Escort Boards with various illustrations that depicted some of the many fun stories the couple had to share – these stories were then explained on Story Cards placed out on the dining tables. We further styled this space with floral ladders, steps, Gifts & Cards apple cart, vintage windows and apple crates. In the flower meadow, we styled lounge areas with a mix of soft furniture with wicker items, creating a Picnic Station for guests to choose blankets, cushions, and fans to sit within the meadow.
For dinner, guests dined on mixed tables to create more of a Supper Club feel. We made peach dipped taper candles, dyed napkins, created terracotta place names, marbled votives and table numbers and added scented terracotta votives and carved apple tealights. We also made marble wall hangings with key messages from the couple, written in French, German and English. As adults dined in style, the children enjoyed a Kids Room with marble lined runner, custom-made Games Book, and colouring in place mats.
With the evening fun under way, the marquee bar mirrored a conservatory with wicker furniture, potted plants and marble balloons for decoration. The entrance installation for the church was replaced to create a backdrop for the photobooth with dyed fabric backdrop and custom made photo-booth props.
