Malene Oddershede Bach Spring Summer 2019 collection was inspired by the science fiction film ‘Annihilation’ – a surreal, and beautifully dark story that sees a mysterious Shimmer appear to reveal unnatural and other-worldly happenings. A designer that focuses on texture and print, the collection fused pastel perfection, with edgier looks celebrating the Icelandic Poppy, on black plastic raincoats and accessories. The collection was launched at London Fashion Week, marking Malene’s debut on schedule show.
Show Production – Knot & Pop
Bending to the surreal feel of the film, the Set mirrored the mysterious beauty, with the Collection bringing the shimmer, with opulent fabrics throughout.
Knot & Pop supported with Production, both in the lead up and as Show Producers at London Fashion Week. Knot & Pop helped to secure the Venue, planned Model flow, secured the Music Partner, and supported with Set Dressing and Floral concepts.
Taking inspiration from the film, surreal flowers were designed to form pathways down the focal staircase, with abstract floral ponds created as beautiful back-drops, which further marked the walkway for models. Furniture was styled within the venue to encourage press and buyers to sit, relax and watch the presentation, that flowed on repeat for two hours. A string quartet played throughout the presentation with a gorgeous soundscape echoing through the atrium, and creating a calming yet surreal space amongst the busy Fashion Week Schedule.
